Phuket, people are very nice and friendly. However, weirdly people often think I am a foreign even though I am fully Thai. I don't know why,may be the way I look. Some time I just go with the flow and made up a random country. I have a chat with a few local people and they are all lovely. People here have the best smile, smile is probably by far my favourite way of communication because you don't need much and it is universal you don't even have to know how to speak to show your feeling. It actually warm your heart up a little and this is what I mean by candy from strangers. And now let me show you the people of Kamala.

Phuket - Kamala's smiles
This summer me and my roommate Delphine are going on a trip to Phuket. We planned it out even before we started our final exam and now it is happening for real. It is not the first time that I travel without my parents. They have been sending me back and forth the curve of the world between Thailand and England for four years now. However, this is my first time travelling alone and it is not to school, at least not with the one with walls and textbooks and exams. I am so ready to learn and rest and enjoy life!
I woke up at 4.30 AM to get ready. I am so excited even though Phuket is still in my country I haven't been there since I was 7. It was not a long flight from Bangkok, probably around an hour. You can see the whole island as you approaching, the greeny blue sea was breath taking and I feel so lucky to be here. This time of year is "low season" that is why I can manage to book 4.5 stars hotel very cheaply ( It was around 2500 baht/night ) It was incredible! After we rest for a bit and fill ourselves up with good food we head to the beach and walk around Kamala area.

Malaysia - Chinatown
After climbing up and down nearly 300 steps of Batu Caves we went straight to Chinatown to find some lunch. As we entered the area we were greeted by rows after rows of red lanterns over our heads and the smell of freshly roasted chestnut. It was not hard at all to find food to fill up our stomach, The hard bit was to stop yourself from eating everything. Then we entered "Petaling Street" it was quite a familiar sight really, not so different from Thailand where I'm from. Shops selling fake branded bags, sunglasses and belts. As I know I can get those in my country too , or it is probably even come from my country it was not very interesting for me. However, as we turn around at the corner a few blocks away there was a quiet temple.
It was a Tao temple, greeting us were two big dragons on the pillar. The temple was quiet and peaceful. I lid up handful of joss stick and go around the temple to pay respect to different gods. I can see clearly the diversity of Malaysia now that I have seen Batu Caves, Masjid and this temple. I find it fascinating to see three strong and completely different culture and beliefs in the same country. I just realise that the advertisement that I see all the time on Discovery did not say anything more than the truth. Malaysia is indeed "truly asia"
